Alternate Access® President Addresses Teens on Entrepreneurship at Contemporary Science Center Day Camp

Raleigh, NC -- 21 July 2004 -- Adrienne Lumpkin, co-founder and president of Alternate Access today addressed students enrolled in the Contemporary Science Center Summer Camp on entrepreneurship. The discussion was wide-ranging, including paying off college debt, balancing family life with business demands, planning for profitability, and staving off business competition. Students were involved in the creation of business plans for scientific and technology-based businesses.

Of her participation, Lumpkin says, "This is one of the outreach activities that Alternate Access believes is so key to enriching young people's thinking beyond traditional careers. Presenting the option of entrepreneurship, with information on how to prepare for it, broadens their opportunities, in particular in relation to scientific and technological discovery."
