Power Surge

The “dog days” of summer are upon us and with those steamy days comes erratic, and sometimes violent, weather.
Protect your equipment against power surges and outages. Follow these simple rules to ensure you aren’t left in the dark and without phone service this summer.
- Be sure to replace UPSes (uninterruptible power supplies) every few years.
- Make sure you are plugging your devices into the battery back up ports on the UPS
- Install power chute or monitoring software on your server to monitor the performance of your UPS
- Check the power requirements for each device to ensure you have the proper power capacity to keep your system running longer than the anticipated outage.
- Never overload a UPS by plugging all of your devices into a single unit

- Be sure to purchase a UPS that meets your power consumption needs
