Wake County SmartStart Selects Alternate Access® to Install VoIP Phone System

Switch to VoIP reinforces commitment to achieve more with fewer resources

Raleigh, N.C. (July 20, 2011) – Alternate Access®, a leading provider of Voice over IP phone systems and related communication solutions, recently installed a trixbox VoIP phone system at the new office location of Wake County SmartStart (WCSS). The purchase was part of an ongoing effort to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs during a time when financial resources are critical.

“We are tremendously excited by the opportunity to work with Wake County SmartStart,” Lumpkin said. “We believe in the organization’s mission to thoroughly prepare young children to succeed in school and beyond. The strategic decision to implement VoIP will enable WCSS to reduce future operational costs by allowing them to select from the wider range of phone services VoIP facilitates.”

Lumpkin added, “The trixbox phone system requires less telephony wiring and hardware than a traditional system, which means WCSS immediately saved on installation costs. For the long term, they will realize lower maintenance costs and greater staff productivity for both onsite and remote workers.” The phone system integrates cell phones and other messaging methods, such as instant messaging and e-mail, into a streamlined process that can improve efficiency.
